The cancer types most common to young adults are Hodgkin Lymphoma, Melanoma, Testicular Cancer, Thyroid Cancer, and Breast Cancer    

 

In 2016, an estimated 1,685,210 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in the United States and 595,690 people will die form the disease. NCI

 

Research shows chemotherapy can cause infertility by depleting the egg supply and putting young adults in to early menopause 

 

The higher the dose of treatment the more likely the risk of premature menopause and it is more common after high dose radiation then chemotherapy. (Aflac Cancer Survivor Program)

 

Radiation to the following sites can cause damage: Male and Female: Abdominal , bladder, femur, hip, inguinal area, pelvic, lower spine, testicular and total body irradiation.  Head and neck irradiation can alter the brain's ability to signal the ovary or testes.  (Aflac Cancer Survivor Program)
